Porteous’ Studio is a quaint, yet elegant, architecturally designed holiday stay in Edinburgh.
The retreat was created to house two people and give them an opportunity to rest after a day shuffling through the bustling city. The design allows for a spacious kitchen, well-kept living area, and a bedroom with a double bed, for intimate snuggling. There is a separate shower room accompanied by a handful of amenities including skin, hair, and body care – all made with local, fresh, organically sourced materials.
The actual studio has been crafted with natural products that allow a warm and cozy feeling to eminate from the structure itself. The natural clay plaster walls allow for cool days and warm evenings. The velvety-soft limestone tiles sit comfortably beneath the feet of Porteous’ inhabitants, granting the studip with an earthy and accomodating feel.
Truly designed from the ground-up, all of the furniture in this retreat has been crafted from a single oak tree that was harvested from East Lothian. The uniformity and harmony eminating from this structure is palpable and seems to cast a melodic aura about its components.
If the studio’s offerings were not quite enough, the structure sits in the shadow of the town’s most spectacular view; Ediburgh’s Castle.
