Steve McQueen’s $12 Million Malibu Beach House is Up For Sale
If you’re going to talk “cool,” even today, decades after his untimely death, you have to bring Steve McQueen into the discussion. Lately, McQueen has been popping up more and more as items that once belonged to the actor have been going on sale or have been inspiring new products. In addition to his own sense of style, McQueen also had an impressive real estate portfolio, and one item from that list that is now up for sale is McQueen’s Malibu Beachhouse.

For the meagre price of USD$12 million, you can own Steve McQueen’s Malibu Beachhouse. The 3,300 square foot home was built in the mid to late 1970s. The house served as the primary residence for McQueen and his wife at the time, actress Ali McGraw. The current owners have remodeled the house, updating the flooring, kitchen, cabinetry, and bathrooms. Aside from the history of the home, what makes the house most valuable is its prime location. The beachhouse is located on a private and gated street off of the main Broad Beach Road near the Trancas shopping and dining centre. It has direct beach access, with the access also having been recently updated.
The new owner will enjoy five beds and five baths. Plenty of windows and decks provide spectacular beach views. The master bedroom has a private terrace as well as a bathroom done in marble and walk-in closets. A downstairs den area comes with a minibar, porch, and spa. There’s also a child’s playroom and a bunkroom. One of the bedrooms features a boat-shaped bed. There’s no doubt that this home was befitting the King of Cool. You can easily picture McQueen enjoying the stunning views while relaxing with his feet up, enjoying the cool breeze directly off the ocean. Now that’s cool.
