New Frontier Tiny Homes has been putting together tiny homes that have caught the attention of homeowners both big and small. Their Orchid Tiny Home was inspired by contemporary farmhouses, and features the same space-saving, off-grid features that have made tiny homes so popular.
The Orchid measures only 32 feet long and comes to a grand total of only 310 square feet. The tiny home features a large, garage-style lifting door that opens up to the living room, expanding it to include the local setting. Inside, there is one loft-style bedroom, but the solid walnut sofa pulls out into a bed.
The kitchen and dining area are two steps above the living room, giving space for the pull out bed. The kitchen features a dining table, stove, sink, and fridge/freezer. Under the loft is the bathroom, with a custom-made floating vanity sink, an incinerating toilet, and a shower.
The exterior is also unique. New Frontier explains, “The Orchid Tiny House’s exterior siding is an application we’ve only seen in a few Scandinavian cabins and certainly the first application of its kind on a tiny house. We spaced and raised cedar boards off of the walls and roof to give each piece the appearance of floating. The boards carry over onto the roof in a seamless line and result in an original, timeless wooden exterior.” This tiny home would be right at home on any farm.
