Roman and Williams makes some pretty beautiful and comfortable furniture. Their new guild reader chair and ottoman continue that practice. The chair and ottoman were inspired by 19th-century campaign furniture. This particular style was meant more for travel than necessarily for comfort, and often resulted in some unique and innovative designs.
One of the more iconic designs that is easily recognisable is the film director’s chair. Roman and Williams pulled directly from that chair, using the X-brace design for the sides of both the chair and the ottoman. The wood for the chair is reclaimed walnut. Black leather straps keep the X in its proper format and also provides the footrest, chair bottom, and chair back.
The chair back also features a pillow for added comfort. As the chair gets broken in, the leather will stretch, making the chair even more comfortable to sit in. The look of the chair is finished off with burnished brass hardware.
The simple elegance of the chair gives it a style that readily fits in with any décor, whether that be your living room or your office. Each chair is custom made to order, and takes roughly 12 to 14 weeks for delivery.
