Back Country Tiny Homes decided that the best way to live big is by going small, and their Basecamp model tiny home is available to purchase to the general public. Well, sort of. The original is in Oregon, but they’re not in the business of selling real estate or hardware. What they’re selling is the plans to build your very own tiny home, exactly the same or slightly different to the ones they’ve been designing for some years.
The Basecamp (pictured here) is their tried and tested model, but as of this month they’re offering custom designs to prospective buyers, a first in tiny home design. These houses have everything you need to comfortably fit two people with everything you need to live (bathroom, kitchen, lounge, bedroom etc, etc.) and are ideal for people who spend most of their waking hours in the great outdoors anyway.
They cost about $40k USD to build yourself or a little more if you need to enlist the help of a tradie, if the comprehensive list of materials and instructions is followed, and are a clever solution to the expensive housing and high-density urban sprawl to which we’ve all become accustomed.
