Gerber Flatiron Folding Knife Uniquely Adds to the Knife World

The Gerber Flatiron Folding Knife is a limited release blade that is unique in the folding knife world. The shape of the blade brings to mind either a cleaver or the old straight edge folding razors. The blade is rectangular and measures 3.8 inches in length, making the entire opened knife 8.5 inches total. As a cleaver style blade, you won’t have the sharp tip common on knives, but the edge of the blade can be honed to razor perfection. The blade is made of stainless steel and has a stonewash finish, giving the blade an antique look. The blade also features a deep finger choil—the circular cutout at the base of the blade—for increased control when making cuts that require close and careful maneuvering. Given the cleaver shape, this folding blade can also be used for a chopping action.

The locking mechanism is a frame lock which can be opened and closed using your thumb and the thumb hole. The handle is made of black aluminum with a stonewashed back as well as a desert tan G-10 style. There is also a slim pocket clip.

Gerber was founded in 1939 in Portland, Oregon. Since that founding, Gerber has been providing hunters, soldiers, and tradesmen knives and tools that meet unique needs and specific activities. During that time, Gerber has come to be known for quality and innovation, as well as reliability. The Gerber Flatiron Folding Knife fits nicely into that earned reputation.

Please note: The Gerber Flatiron Folding Knife is not yet available for purchase within Australia.
