London-born design firm Buster + Punch has launched its newest collection of architecturally-designed, modular lighting solutions inspired by the city of London’s steel skyline. Titled Caged, the collection takes the simple box light concept and transforms it into a series of extraordinary building blocks. Matte black knurled lamp holders featuring Buster + Punch penny buttons frames the designer’s patented LED technology – to be hung in a linear procession, as a cluster, at staggered heights, or to create dramatic chandeliers on a massive scale. Customisation is encouraged.
Caged is comprised of eight interchangeable modular wall and ceiling lights with the first edition of back panel options available in – Flamed Black Granite, Polished White Marble and Brushed Steel. The eco-friendly LEDs are dimmable 5W with warm-white colouring resulting in a flattering ambient light that’s expected to last for more than 27 years. You will be ready for a home makeover before the globes need replacing.
Buster + Punch created an immersive cage installation made up of 223 abstract steel panels welded together to form a geometric marvel that showcases the firm’s largest and most anticipated lighting collection to date. Unless you were in Milan between the 4-9 of April then you likely missed out. However, each piece can be purchased for the Buster + Punch website, so you don’t really miss out.
Buster + Punch is inspired by London’s fashion, music and sub-culture where it collaborates with street artists, bike builders, musicians and fashion designers to inject attitude into its products.
