ANGOLA is a short film depicting the epic surf discovery made by two travelling brothers looking for the worlds’ best waves. This film offers a unique and unseen picture of one of the most deprived and war torn countries in Africa. Static shots of the surrounding environment; slums, armed guards, rubbish dumps; are juxtaposed with the joy of children eager to get on film and local woman dressed is vibrant colours. Most stunning though, is the smooth and elongated shot of the 3 KM wave which is captured in all its glory. The simplicity of the film is all the more poignant when compared to the images of Angola we are usually privy too on the news. It demonstrates that there is human as well as natural beauty no matter where you look.
