There’s actually a lot of thought that goes into your headlamp. For instance, did you know that most headlamps will auto-regulate their lumens, dimming the brightness as your eyes get accustomed to the dark? This helps to conserve battery, giving you light for longer. But sometimes, you need that extra brightness, and let’s not even get into the fit of the headlamp. Biolite’s Headlamp 750 addresses these issues while giving you the performance you expect.
The elephant in the room when it comes to headlamps is fit. Because Biolite integrates the electronics directly into the band, they’re able to create a low-profile front that sits flush and eliminates bounce. Then by relocating the power supply to the rear, there’s less pressure on your forehead. The band also wicks away moisture, keeping you cool and dry.
The Biolite Headlamp 750 also features Constant Mode, which lets you maintain control of how bright the light is. You can keep things bright, or let the headlamp dim over time—the choice is yours. And even if you do let the light dim, you can still invoke the burst mode for 30 seconds of max brightness. Of course running the lamp on full brightness eats up the power, but with the Run Forever feature, you can use the includes three-foot cable to connect to an external powerbank.
The headlamp also uses pass-thru charging, which lets you run the lamp while simultaneously charging it. You can also choose what kind of light you want using the different lenses. You can select the red flood lens, white flood lens, or white spot lens. The light also features a tilt front that gives you four different positions for putting the light right where you want it. There’s also a rear red visibility light to keep you safe from people or vehicles approaching from behind. The Headlamp 750 is available on Biolite’s website for $99.95.
