Bear Butt is funding its new products and ambitions through Kickstarter, as the company blitzed passed its funding goal earning around an additional 200k. So what makes Bear Butt’s outerwear so special? Well, it’s affordable, highly functional, and the bright colours and logo make it instantly recognisable.
The Bear Butt Daybreaker Jacket is colourful, lightweight and water-resistant, suitable for all conditions. No bells or whistles, just a hood, drawstring and zippered opening. It’s the basics, but the basics done incredibly well. The Daybreaker Jacket is priced from USD $40.
The Awaken sleeping bag is for casual campers seeking a few days and nights of outdoor adventure. The sleeping bags are temperature rated to 4-degrees Celsius (44F) and feature waterproof synthetic insulation. The Awaken sleeping bag is available from $75.
There’s more than meets the eye to Bear Butt’s Rise Backpacks. The all-rounder pack looks basic at a glance, but once inside, you’ll find an insulated water bottle pocket and a key pocket with a cord. The bag measures to 19L and has removable sternum and waist straps suitable for rough terrain. Colourwise, you can opt for something subtle or a bright colour that’s destined to stand out on the hiking trail. Rise backpacks are priced from $45.
You can lock-in a jacket, sleeping bag or backpack for a discounted price while the Kickstarter campaign is running. Everything is expected to jump in cost around 25% once it hits retail. Kickstarter orders are expected to ship April 2018. The hammocks are not offered through Kickstarter, but they are here to stay.
Unless you’re planning on sleeping under the stars, you need a tent. We recommend the classic-stylings of The Snow Peak Entry Pack TT Tent.
