The Sanborn Prospector Canoe is Built for Exploration

A canoe trip is the ultimate adventure. You don’t need to worry about reservations, traffic or crowded airports. You can explore nature at will and see where the river takes you.

Whether you plan to take a weekend trip or an annual expedition, you’ll need a good canoe. A canoe is an investment, so it is important to choose wisely.

If you are looking for high-quality canoes and outdoor goods, Minnesota-based Sanborn Canoe Company is the company to check out. The company started out simply—just a couple of buddies who built a canoe to take on trips. Inspired after building their first canoe, the guys turned their love of canoeing into a full-fledged business.

Sanborn’s latest—the Sanborn Prospector shows that outdoor goods can be functional and beautiful too. This 16-foot canoe looks just as good hanging on a wall as it does out on the open water.

The Sanborn Prospector was constructed with excellent materials like fibreglass, carbon fibre and kevlar. Incredible attention to detail was paid in the construction of this canoe. Features include rich cherry decks, handles and outer gunnels. The Hand-woven seats are trimmed out in cherry and ash hardwood. A brass medallion and brass stems complete the look.

Weighing just 28 kg, the Sanborn Prospector is incredibly lightweight. In spite of its lightweight design, this canoe can handle 408 kg. It was built to withstand the abuse of extended backcountry canoeing trips. Finalised with a distinctive painted hull and finished with a gel-coat, the Prospector Canoe is truly a testament to what detailed craftsmanship and beautiful design can do.
