Ken Block has partnered up with Marine Products to take his supercharged lifestyle onto the water. The Park City, Utah, based Ken Block is perhaps best known as one of the founders of DC Shoes, but block is also an accomplished professional rally driver for Hoonigan Racing Division (formerly Monster World Rally Team). Block has also competed in skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. After his stint with DC Shoes, Block turned his focus to Hoonigan Industries, which makes apparel for auto enthusiasts. And it looks like Block is changing his focus again, this time turning to the aquatic side of things.
In a statement explaining that he wanted to make this summer the best ever on the lakes around Park City as well as Lake Powell, Block turned to Marine Products to build a custom Supra (the boat, not the car). Block’s first action was to remove the old engine and replace it with a 6.2 liter V8 previously used in a Ford F150 Raptor. A Roush supercharger was added, giving the engine a total of 575 horsepower with 580 lb-ft of torque. Top that off with a custom prop, and this customized boat doesn’t isn’t cutting through the water like a knife through butter, but like a plasma torch.
It wasn’t just the engine that got the Hoonigan treatment, though. The exterior was liveried in Block’s Escort Cossie. The whole affair requires a triple-axle trailer being pulled by a Ford F450.
