The 2018 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost collection pays tribute to the legendary Silver Ghost. The name Silver Ghost refers both to a line of Rolls-Royces, but also to one specific car. The new collection takes elements of that original car to inform design decisions and to guide the performance of their new line of luxury cars.
The new Silver Ghosts borrows certain elements from the original, including a sterling-silver Spirit of Ecstasy with a black gold plated collar, Cassiopeia Silver (the complex silver paint that replicates the original color), the Forest Green leather interior, as well as the clock and tread plates, among other features.
The 2018 versions feature a bolder face that has been pushed forward to create a stronger sweep back. Technological upgrades and acoustic advancements also improve the luxury of the car from its drivability to its near silent sound. The new multimedia interface has larger screens for the rear passengers—all of which are voice controlled—and also provide Real Time Traffic Information for 32 countries.
Rolls-Royce continues to live up to its mantra of taking the best and making it better. Nothing proves this commitment more than the new line of Silver Ghosts. In 1907, Autocar magazine names the Silver Ghost as the best car in the world. Certainly, these new iterations are deserving of the same title.
