2022 Shelby Raptor is a 525-HP Beast with a Bad Attitude
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Ford F-150 Raptor is its attitude. Of course, that chip-on-the-shoulder stance is backed up by plenty of power as well. But there are some people out there—thankfully—that aren’t convinced that enough is ever enough. The geniuses over at Shelby American have released their take on the Ford F-150 Raptor, and the 2022 Shelby Raptor amps up the attitude and the power.

Equipping the truck with a cold-air intake and a new exhaust, and then treating it to an aftermarket tune, Shelby took the F-150 Raptor’s 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and bumped it up from 450 horsepower with 510 lb-ft f torque to 525 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque. So there’s the improved power, but what did Shelby do to make the truck even more menacing? In addition to a new grilled with “Shelby” in block lettering on it, the truck also got hood scoops, a new front bumper equipped with an LED light bar, and a chase rack for the truck bed where you can store a spare tire.
The chase rack also comes with its own LED light bar. The truck is also a bit taller thanks to the 18-inch wheels, which Shelby designed, shod in 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tires. You even get two extra tires out of the deal, with the spares being mounted in the bed. Inside, the Shelby Raptor offers custom leather seats with red trim as well as all the Shelby badging you can handle, including a dashboard plaque.

The bigger, badder attitude of the Shelby Raptor comes with a bigger price, though that information hasn’t been released yet. However, the 2021 version started at $124,820, which includes the cost of the donor Raptor. Given everything that goes into the new Shelby Raptor, it’s easy to see why the famous tuner is quoted as saying that this is their “most polished performance truck to date.” They could just as easily have said that it’s their meanest to date as well.
