Hundreds of exciting innovations, technologies, and products were displayed at the Geneva show last month. It’s hard to say which will have the greatest impact on the industry, what will generate the most sales, or who will come away feeling like the show’s big winner… but it’s easy for us to talk about one of our favorite new technologies; The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Digital Light.
The Digital Light, which should be available for consumer-use in the very near future is revolutionary headlamp technology that creates a virtually dazzle-free main beam image in HD quality with resolution of more than two million pixels. Chosen fleet customers are expected to have their vehicles equipped with this technology in the first half of 2018.
While the finished display of this innovation looks incredibly cool, its true purpose is far more refined. The revolutionary Digital Light headlamp technology with outstanding performance facilitates pioneering driving assistance and communication with the driver and can create ideal light conditions in almost every driving scenario.
Currently the Digital Light can display six unique symbols to optimize driving performance and safety: Low-grip surface, construction site, rear-end collision, lane-keeping, blind-spot, and speed. These seven symbols can positively affect the ability to drive safely and effectively – all while keeping Mercedes’ owners at the forefront of technological driving advances.
