American auto-icon Dodge isn’t afraid to share its age. Late last year, the brand dropped a 5oth-Anniversary limited-edition Challenger model and here in 2020, the brand has gone and doubled-down. Dodge has just unveiled the Challenger 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition.
According to Dodge, the new Commemorative Edition option pack will be available across different Challenger models including the R/T, R/T Scat Pack and R/T Scat Pack Widebody. What that means for Dodge drivers is a whole lot more muscle on the roads, aesthetically at least. The Commemorative Edition sees Dodge add 20-inch wheels painted ‘Gold School’, with a satin black bonnet, roof and boot. Additionally, the new pack adds Challenger 50 logos and a bunch more satin black details like the fuel filler and badge. Anyone who upgrades to the new edition will also score the unique 50th Anniversary illuminated air-catcher headlamps, real carbon fibre instrumental panel, white-faced gauges with yellow accents and a luxurious heated and ventilated black Nappa leather trim.
Obviously, this isn’t a massive redesign, more an aftermarket aesthetics upgrade, but nevertheless, Dodge seems pretty proud of its work. “With its heritage design, unmatched power and everyday liveability, the Challenger is a true GT car and every bit as beloved and relevant to today’s consumer as the first generation was 50 years ago,” Dodge said.
The Commemorative Edition pack starts at USD$5,495 for the standard Challenger R/T, increasing in price depending on your Challenger model.
