Mack Trucks x Driza-Bone Super-Liner Semi
“Go big, or go home.” There’s no arguing that Justin O’Shea subscribed to that mantra for his latest Driza-Bone collaboration. This project is so big that it literally takes a Semi to move it. Driza-Bone has lent its unique style to semi-truck brand Mack Truck on a new Super-liner, and the result is an 18-wheeler that looks better than most of the cars that it will share the road with.

“I grew up in a mining community,” O’Shea told Highsnobiety, “so trucks were obviously a big part of my upbringing. When I was thinking about the idea of what I can do to collaborate and do some interesting projects with the brand, it was like, well, which others share a similar story or a similar purpose?”
Those similarities were found in Mack Trucks. There’s also a history between the two. Driza-Bone was established in 1898 and it was pretty common to see the brand being worn by the men who built Australia’s highways. “The biggest challenge for me is how much from the past can I bring back, considering the modern consumer doesn’t know and probably doesn’t care. Bringing in made in Australia outside stuff that fits into a similar rough and hard-wearing ideal is an interesting way of doing so.”
The Mack Trucks X Driza-Bone Super-Liner Semi revives that heritage of rough and hard-wearing ideals by eschewing chrome and offering up plenty of black in its place. Decked out in matte black, the rig is accented by pops of yellow including on the Mack logo and in pin striping. Those interested in seeing the collaboration can catch the Super-liner as it travels from Queensland to Mt. Isa for the rodeo. The truck will be making stops along the way for people to both see the work done and to meet the riders and see their riding gear.
