If you’ve ever wished that you could be an Oscar Mayer wiener, then you’ll be glad to know that you can now stay a night in the famous Wienermobile. For around USD$200 a night, you can stay in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile for a night thanks to Airbnb.
The space is located in Chicagoland and is fashioned out of an authentic wienermobile. The mobile has been transformed into a livable space with amenities like a mini-fridge stocked with everyone’s favourite hot dog and all the Chicago-style hot dog essentials you’ll need for a feast. Guests also receive an Oscar Mayer roller grill that you get to take home with you.
There is also an outdoor space for the bathroom and a hot dog eating zone. Each guest also receives a welcome basket that comes with all the hot dog inspired accoutrements you can imagine. The mobile measures 27 feet long and has bedding for two people. There’s a sitting area featuring the wienermobile’s captain chairs.
Guests get a free breakfast as well. Plus, guests can enjoy a wienermobile inspired art piece by local artist Laura Kiro.
Wienermobiles come in a variety of styles, mostly because each one was built from the ground up. Chassis from Pontiac, GMC, and RAM have all been used for the cars. Engines have included a turbocharged four-cylinder, a V6, and even a 6.0L V8—though you won’t get to test out the engine on this Airbnb space as guests aren’t allowed to drive the wienermobile.
Availability for the wienermobile is limited to the weekend of the Chicago music festival Lollapalooza (August 1, 2, and 3). Some lucky music lovers will have quite the story to tell. As the listing puts it, “this hot dog paradise is the ideal respite for two music lovers in town for the festival weekend…or just those who relish a good story.”
