Formawerx Focuses on the Overlooked

Fortunately, Formawerx is around to help you think of every detail with their Porsche Custom Key. Let’s be realistic. If you have a vintage Porsche, no doubt you’ve been working to make it show worthy—or at the very least, something that will turn heads when you’re driving around. Even if you haven’t started that labor of love, you’ll want to make sure that you take care of every detail. But while you’re thinking about Fuchs wheels, or period correct seats, have you stopped to consider the key? If you’re going to invest that much time and effort into restoring your vintage Porsche to its full glory, then you won’t want to miss out on the tiniest of details.

Formawerx, based out of Orange County, CA, has put together the Ignition—a custom machined key inspired by the design elements of the 911. The key is made of 303 stainless steel (the same material used in the OEM factory to create the original Porsche keys). The keys are all made to factory specifications, so taking them to any locksmith won’t be a problem. The keys feature six holes, reminding the user of Porsche’s iconic flat-six engine.

If you have a Porsche 911 from 1970 through 1998, or any 912 or 914, then you’ll need one of these keys. Even if you can only dream of having such a car, there’s nothing stopping you from picking up a key now—just in case some day actually comes.
