“The all-new 2020 Sierra HD is the most capable heavy-duty truck that we’ve ever offered,” stated Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. That’s no small claim, but GMC recognizes that need.
Aldred continued, “For customers who demand a premium, innovative heavy-duty truck that supports their passions, the next-generation Sierra HD can pull like a pro.”
What gives Aldred the confidence in the new Sierra? It might be the enhanced ProGrade Trailering system with its 15 camera views, which includes a “transparent trailer view” to see through the trailer in tow.
Combine that with the available smart trailer, and you can truly control what you’re hauling. Just download the myGMC mobile app, and you’ll have access to the smart trailer’s integrated iN-Command control system form ASA Electronics. There’s also the 15-inch head-up display for trailering information, and the rear camera mirror to give you even more information.
Maybe Aldred is referring to the world’s first six-function tailgate. Or perhaps it’s the larger design for more room, including more front headroom and legroom in the Crew Cab. Let’s not forget the all-new, segment-first Allison 10-speed automatic transmission and the 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel. The new Sierra can haul in excess of 30,000 pounds thanks to the 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
There’s plenty that Aldred could be referring to; regardless, the new Sierra Heavy Duty will be the go-to for hauling in the years to come.
