GMC has just teased the world with glimpses of the first-ever Hummer EV, with plans to reveal the vehicle during Super Bowl LIV. Not a huge amount is known about this new super truck, but excitement is definitely high for the resurrection of the early 2000s icon, reinterpreted for the modern market.
With the tag line “Hear What Powerful Sounds Like”, the new zero-emissions truck boasts up to 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 LB.-Ft of torque and a solid 0-60 mph in 3 seconds, is tipped to rival the Tesla Cybertruck and Ford’s all-electric F-150, and being a zero-emissions all-electric vehicle, the Hummer EV is in stark contrast to the gas-guzzling Hummers of old, suggesting a GMC’s shift to a greater focus on sustainability for GMC.
Aesthetically we’ve just been teased with a glimpse of the Hummer EV’s front grille, of which the design language is a clear nod to the heritage of the Hummer brand, with a fresh futuristic twist. The first glimpse has us hooked, so we’ll certainly be tuning to Super Bowl to see more.
