Gordon Ramsay Drools over His Car Collection at the Track

Gordon Ramsay sums it up really well—“The first time I want to sleep in a car.” In a vide on his YouTube channel, Ramsay, the famous chef known not only for his cooking but his volatile temper in the kitchen, brings his entire car collection to the track for the first time, and it’s a collection that will have you drooling just as much as one of his signature dishes.

Ramsay started his day on the track at Brands Hatch in a McLaren Senna. “Only 500 of these beauties were made. It’s like driving the fast roller coaster you’ve ever been on,” remarks the chef. Ramsey then moves on to his blue Porsche 918 Spyder, boasting that the car can go from “naught to 60 in 2.5 seconds.” Ramsey also observes that this particular spider has some bite, “a 4.6-liter V8 engine with two electric motors—this is no Prius.”

In addition to the McLaren and the Porsche, Ramsay’s collection includes a Ferrari 812 Superfast, a Monza SP2, and a Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, which elicited his best reaction. “Now this is what I call a car. Every time I sit in this incredible car, it gives me chills. With only 200 made on the planet, LaFerrari Aperta is on a different level. Nearly 1,000 braking horsepower—f*** me, it’s fast.” Ramsay is obviously a Ferrari fan, because he also owns a 488 GTB, F12 TDF, F12 Berlinetta, La Ferrari, 430 Scuderia, 458 Italia, 550 Maranello, 612 Scaglietti, and a California T. The Brit couldn’t have a proper collection without an Aston Martin, and Ramsay opted for the DB7. He also claims title to a Bentley Continental GT. But perhaps one of the chef’s favorite cars in his collection is the very first car that he ever bought for himself—a VW Golf VR6.

Ramsay closes out the day, stating, “What an amazing day with the most amazing cars—brand new, vintage, and more importantly some amazing friends and family. And that, from a chef’s point of view, trust me, it doesn’t get hotter than that.”
