Look, the McLaren Senna doesn’t leave you much room for improvement. According to McLaren, “the Senna is the personification of McLaren’s DNA at its most extreme.” McLaren further states that the Senna is their most track-focused car ever built, and that “it will set the fastest lap times of any McLaren to date.” The Senna produces 789 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque; it will hit 100 in just 2.8 seconds, and tops out at 208 miles per hour.
So where else can you go with such a supercar?
When your name is Hennessey Performance, you always see opportunity for improvement. Hennessey added in high-flow air filters along with a Motec engine management system. Stainless steel turbot headers were added to the upgraded twin turbo system. Other upgrades include the transmission system, a high-flow wastegate system, intercooler, and a stainless steel exhaust.
All that work bumped up the horsepower to 1,000. Custom diagnostics keep the car in prime dyno tuning.
It’s a gamble to try to improve on perfection, but Hennessey has turned that gamble into an art form.
