When it comes to interpretations of what vehicles could be in other styles or uses, sometimes you end up with some pretty outlandish ideas. The Honda Ridgeline Overland Project is Honda’s foray into reimaging a vehicle for a new purpose. Partnering with Jsport performance Accessories, Honda outifited a 2019 Ridgeline with everything you would need for a vehicle that’s not outlandish, but “overlandish.”
Perhaps the best news of this project is that just about every part of it is either for sale or soon will be, and once you get an idea of what is being offered, you’ll be grateful for that too. The Ridgeline was given side steps and additional skid plates. A suspension levelling kit was added to provide clearance for BFGoodrich KO2 off-road tires.
Above the bed, a rack system was added to provide additional storage and to mount a rooftop folding tent, plus a spare tire and a few other odds and ends (like a Honda EU220i generator). The Ridgeline has more of a reputation of being a lifestyle truck than a work beast, but the base Ridgeline already comes with an i-VTM4 four-wheel drive system. Beef that up with all these accessories and Honda has a pretty impressive showing in the overland market.
