Given their recent launch of the Stinger in Australia, it’s never been easier to get excited about the once-droll Korean marque Kia. The all-of-a-sudden exciting car company just debuted its Proceed Concept at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Kia hopes to evolve the three-door hatchback market with its concept. This vehicle also moves the South Korean auto manufacturer’s design closer to that of the premium market.
The Proceed Concept is a completely new body style for Kia. The station wagon may just be one of the hottest to debut in recent years. Kia describes the style as an “elongated hot hatch.” It is being billed as the preview to Kia’s next generation Cee’d and Pro_cee’d production models, both of which are sold in Europe.
The Proceed concept resembles the upcoming Kia Stinger sports sedan, especially in the front. Its body style is similar to the Optima Sportswagon. The Proceed has a more curvaceous and sloped shape than the Sportswagon.
The sporty nature of the Proceed Concept is in line with Kia’s plans to focus more on performance-oriented vehicles in the future. The Proceed features Lava Red paint. The waistline is set off with black skirts on the lower body. Daytime running lights enhance the sporty look. They are complemented by additional illumination to highlight the profile.
The extended roofline is accentuated by a unique side-window surround that has a sharkblade C-pillar marked with GT badging. This feature emphasises the floating roofline.
The Proceed Concept sits on 20-inch aluminium alloy wheels. They feature a central locking nut for security. Kia added large six-spoke Kumho performance tires for good measure. Other features include full-width taillights and a diffuser, similar to Porsche’s Panamera Sport Turismo.
