When you purchase a Lamborghini, there’s an understanding that you’re not really going to change it much. Oh, sure, add some different tyres, change up the paint, maybe a touch up on the exhaust, but don’t do anything drastic, nothing custom.
Alex Choi, known for his YouTube channel and appearances on Daily Driven Exotics, had something radically different in mind for his Lamborghini Huracan. Spoiler alert—if you can’t bear the thought of “Rally Car” being added to the description of a Lamborghini, read no further.
Choi does start out by saying that his dream Lambo keeps things pretty normal, but he also explains that he lives “by the idea of not being what people expect or want you to be.” Working with Sheepey Race, based out of Murrieta, California, Choi transformed his Huracan into the “Unicorn V3” Rally Car. The body, with the exception of the doors and roof, was replaced with what Choi calls “monkey bars”—an exoskeleton made of stainless steel, steel, and chromoly tubing.
The number of lights on the car approaches the range of 42 or 43 total lights. Brickston Forge provided one-off wheels for the car. Foot-long air intakes, which are usually used for tractor trailers, were added along with a custom air-to-air intercooler.
Choi’s message for the car is one that should resonate with all of us. When you’re happy with yourself, you don’t have to worry about being cookie cutter so that you fit in. You can be yourself.
