Inside Mansory’s Ridiculous Suicide Door-Equipped G-Wagen
Custom G-Wagens aren’t new to the market, just look at Virgil Abloh’s unique beast. What is new, however, is a G-Wagen with suicide doors. Mansory has released its latest creation—a former Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen with striking colours and a completely new way of entering. Sure, that may sound simple enough, but there’s a reason why no one else has done it so far. Dubbed the Mansory Gronos Coupe EVO C, this G-Wagen is completely unique.

To equip the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen with suicide doors, Mansory had to start by stripping the donor vehicle down to the chassis. Then came the task of relocating the B-pillar, moving it backward so that there would be room for the new doors and to move the hinges back a pillar as well. Then each of the doors had to be adapted to move the opening mechanisms to allow for the doors to open in the opposite direction.
As if that wasn’t enough work, Mansory then went on to set the G-Wagen up with all sorts of modifications, ranging from a vented hood to roof-mounted LED lights, a wide-body carbon fibre kit, and a rear spoiler. They set the whole ride on four 24-inch tires. Despite all those changes, however, what you’ll notice first is the mind-blowing paint job. Mansory calls this unique paint job “Fludium paint chrome atmosphere and it’s a blend of gold, black, and green.

Not to be outdone, the interior is also eye-catching thanks to its white and tan leather with gold and black accents. Changing up the doors also necessitated changing up the seats, so now the front seats fold forward for access to the back row—which is also now two seats rather than one bench.
Powering this unique G-Wagen is a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8. When you press down the pedal on this beast, you’ll get access to 900 horsepower and 855 ft-lbs of torque. That’s enough get up and go to propel this wagon from 0 to 60 in just 3.3 seconds and to boast a top speed of 155 miles per hour. Whether Mansory replaced the transmission is unknown, but if they kept the original, the Gronos would be equipped with a nine-speed automatic. Mansory plans on only eight versions of this build, with each being a commission job unique to each new owner.
