McLaren’s fastest, lightest and most powerful street-legal vehicle in its Sports Series, the 600LT has finally arrived in Australia. You can pick one up from late 2018 for just under a cool half a million dollars.
We first covered the McLaren 600LT several months back when it debuted at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s an impressive enough vehicle that we’re more than happy to repeat ourselves regarding its finer details.
Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 that outputs 600PS and 620Nm, the 600LT will be notorious for its blistering acceleration, going from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The supercar is also fitted with McLaren Senna inspired brake boosters that ensure precise stopping power: 200km/h to a standstill in just 117 metres.
“We are thrilled to welcome the eagerly anticipated 600LT to Australia,” said George Biggs, Managing Director of McLaren Automotive Asia Pacific.
“The LT redefines expectations of super-sportscar performance and pays homage to McLaren’s rich racing history. To date, we’ve already received an incredible amount of interest from the Australian market, and I am looking forward to seeing it on Australian roads.”
600LT is the fourth vehicle to be included in McLaren’s limited edition Longtail series; a collection of vehicles known for their excellence on track. 600LT features a unique exhaust system with top-exit pipes and enhanced carbon fibre bodywork. Extreme weight-saving measures are at play, with a reduction of 96kg against the weight of a 570S Coupé.
McLaren believes the vehicle redefines expectations of a super-sports car through astonishing acceleration, outstanding track cornering speeds and a genuinely dynamic connection between driver and car.
The McLaren 600LT will commence in Australia late 2018 and is priced from AUD$455,000 excluding on-road costs. For more details on the 600LT, you can read our original story right here.
