Porsche ‘Track Your Dream’ Keeps Tabs on Your Car’s Creation

If you’re going to shell out the money to get your dream car made, you’re undoubtedly going to want to be able to monitor the progress of that build. But the ability to do so hasn’t been a reality. Porsche has changed that with their new Track Your Dream function of their online My Porsche platform. The new feature gives customers an exclusive look into the production of sports cars in their Zuffenhausen facility.

Porsche Track Your Dream

“We are bringing production to life for our customers,” says head of the Zuffenhausen Porsche Factory, Christian Friedl. “We produce highly personalized and fascinating sports cars every day in our main factory. The motivation for this is provided by our customers from all of the world. The success factor is our employees, who make customer dreams come true with perfection and passion. Allowing this behind-the-scenes insight creates an obligation for us, but also serves as a source of motivation.”

The application will first be made available for customers who purchase a 911 sports car in Australia, with the US, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Switzerland, and Spain to follow. Additional markets will be added after that. In addition to photos of the production process, Porsche will give exclusive information regarding the customer’s car as well as a countdown. The tracking lets customers check-in at 14 milestone events in the car’s production, from creation to delivery at the dealership.

Of the new service, Porsche’s Vice President of Customer Relations, Robert Ader, stated, “Porsche believes in giving its customers a highly personalized experience from the very start—this now includes the time during which they are waiting for their car. Our customers can now experience live how their individually configured dream car is being built—this will increase the sense of anticipation even more.” And it will help alleviate any concerns as you watch your car being made to meet your requirements.
