Project Kahn’s Velar Goes Heavy on Luxury

Kahn Design has put out some pretty amazing projects, including their latest design, the Project Kahn Range Rover Velar 2.0 D240 R-Dynamic S-Signature edition. You might be hard-pressed to write out the whole name of the car on a single line, but you won’t be complaining when you get into the SUV itself.

The Velar is treated with a matte black paint job that is a clear showing of sophistication and style, mixed with a measure of cool stealth. Carbon fibre trim further dresses up the looks of this Range Rover—especially the large rear boot wing and the matching roof spoiler. You’ll also find carbon fibre in the wheel arches, bumpers, and grille.

Speaking of the grille, the original Range Rover grille, as well as the badging, have been removed in favour of Kahn’s own versions. Copper trim pieces accentuate the dark colour. The 22-inch, RS600 Alloy Wheels are done in Matte Pearl Grey.

Inside, it’s all luxury. Herringbone quilting is used throughout, including on the perforated leather upholstery. The door panels are decked out in leather. In fact, the use of leather is so prolific in this SUV that there is hardly a surface that hasn’t been covered in it, including the door tops. The armrests are done in Nappa leather, as is the centre glove box. The door sill plates are done in stainless steel and the foot pedals are of machined aluminium.

Under the hood, you’ll find a reliable 296 horsepower engine, and the suspension has been lowered for sportier performance. This may be a nearly blacked-out vehicle, but only the most sophisticated rigs can pull off that look—something the Project Kahn Range Rover Velar 2.0 D240 R-Dynamic S-Signature edition does quite successfully.

You can pick up this slick, dark upgrade for just USD$82,000.
