While two-door SUVs don’t exactly flaunt the most prosperous success rate (i.e. nearly all of them fail), that didn’t stop Range Rover from unveiling a jaw-dropping full-size SUV coupe at the Geneva Motorshow. However, the absence of four doors is just one among many things to get people talking about the new SV Coupe. Equally worthy of note is the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 powertrain that cranks out 557 hp, gets the vehicle from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 165 mph. That makes the luxurious SV Coupe the fastest full-size Range Rover to date. Oh, and did we mention the price tag of $295,000 USD and up? They don’t call them luxury SUVs for nothing.
Conceived by Land Rover Design and hand-crafted by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the SV Coupe wraps all new aluminium exterior panels around a commodious interior. Also featured is a two-part grille draped in Brunel Metallic rear mesh and Bright Chrome front mesh, along with a Bright Chrome/Black Knurled Range Rover hood, all of it handmade in UK’s Birmingham Jewellery Quarter.
To enter the belly of this elegant beast is to find yourself flanked by brilliant (and customisable) colourways and sophisticated wood veneers. Slip into the heated and cooled adjustable Semi-Aniline leather seats to experience the best in modern comfort. Up front is a Land Rover InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with a 10″ display, a control panel, an Interactive Driver Display and a Head-Up Display that tells you everything from street names to gear information. Sealing the deal is a 1700w, 23-speaker Meridian Signature Sound System equipped with Trifield 3D technology.
Available in eight exterior colours, the new SV Coupe will be limited to 999 units. Off-road ruggedness doesn’t get more luxurious than this.
