Luxury automaker Rolls-Royce just brought their new, eagerly anticipated SUV one step closer to reality by giving it an official name: Cullinan. Those who’ve been tracking the vehicle’s progress closely won’t be surprised, whereas Cullinan is the name the project has been going under for a few years. What does that name mean? One might ask. Well, it’s derived from the Cullinan Diamond, the second-largest gem-quality rough diamond ever discovered. Like the precious diamond itself, the SUV is a downright brilliant sight to behold. Accordingly, the stunning model promises to make travel “Effortless, Everywhere.”
More than just a tribute to luxury, the name Cullinan also signifies the SUV’s singular journey into production. In order to ensure nothing but the foremost aptitude in the face of any terrain, Rolls-Royce tested their vehicle literally everywhere, from the deserts of Africa to the snows of the Arctic Circle to everything in between. Suffice to say, this baby is built to last and dressed to impress.
In the words of Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös: ““Cullinan…is the most fitting name for our extraordinary new product. [It] is a motor car of such clarity of purpose, such flawless quality and preciousness, and such presence that it recalibrates the scale and possibility of true luxury. Just like the Cullinan Diamond, the largest flawless diamond ever found, it emerges when it is perfect and exists above all others.”
