Expected to be released early next year, the 2019 Suzuki Jimny will mark a reintroduction to the line as the current version has been out of production for some time now.
Although the Japanese automaker has held their cards close to the chest, in regards to specifications, but we have gleaned a few pieces of info. Sources say the turbocharged 1.0 liter Boosterjet three-pot to be offered with no diesel engine expected. If this is anything like their latest Vitara then all manual low-range gear selectors will be swapped for an electric rotary dial, but this is just speculation as this point.
The fact that the brand is foregoing building a more mainstream model means we should expect a relatively low number of total sales, which makes it even cooler that Suzuki is bringing back something of a cult-classic car. We should know more as the year progresses, but for now, just taking in these awesome pictures and the eager anticipation is enough to tide us over.
