The Ferrari Daytona SP3 Costs $3.1 Million, But It Could Be More

Yes, it really could. While Maranello’s latest Ferrari Daytona SP3 comes with a rather steep entry fee, it truly matters none for the buyer, who’s likely got a space reserved for this naturally aspirated V12 in the garage already – if they can get their hands on one.

A homologation special that remembers the famous 1967 1-2-3 victory at 24-hours of Daytona, the SP3 was unveiled at the Mugello Circuit during the 2021 Ferrari Finali Mondiali as a limited edition model that joins the Icona series alongside the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2. Most importantly, the SP3 features a naturally-aspirated V12, mid-rear-mounted, and delivers more power than any Ferrari engine.

So what are the specs?

Engine6496 cc, 9500 rpm, V12 – 65°
Power618 kW (840 cv) @ 9250 rpm
Torque697 Nm @ 7250 rpm
Top Speed340 km/h
Acceleration0-100 km/h: 2.85 s, 0-200 km/h: 7.4 s

Three fundamental technical aspects underpin the Daytona SP3, a measurable plan that chief engineer Mauro Forghieri championed in each of the three racing car’s during the 1960s; engine, chassis and aerodynamics.

Built entirely from composite materials and technology that hasn’t been seen since LaFerrari. We love the fact the SP3 uses only passive aerodynamics (no big wings or splitters) with chimneys and ducts that extract air from underneath the car and produce downforce. The butterfly doors channel air to the side mount radiators.

Not only does the SP3 feature the most powerful engine ever put in a Ferrari, but it’s the most aerodynamically efficient car ever built by Ferrari without resorting to active aero devices.

While useable performance underpins the Daytona SP3 from a technical perspective, in reality, the car will spend most of its time driving on the streets of Beverley Hills, attending owners meetings, and sitting on the garage of the uber-wealthy collector who sees the car as an investment piece. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 will be limited to just 599 units, with prices starting from AU$3.1 million.
