The new 2020 Lotus Evora GT Coupe is ready to hit the roads in the United States and Canada with 416 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Sporting a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine, the Evora can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds.
And what’s the top speed? 188 miles per hour.
Orders are being taken now for the Evora, which sells at a starting price of USD$96,950 but offers plenty of options. The coupe comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, but you can also choose to go with a six-speed automatic transmission for an extra USD$2,700.
The one drawback of going with the automatic version is slower speeds. The 0 to 100 time drops to 3.9 seconds and the top speed hits 174 miles per hour. However, torque increases, going from 317 to 332 lb-ft.
You can also choose from either a two-seater or a 2+2 layout (though how four seats could fit in this car is a bit of a mystery). The other options you can select affect the car’s weight. The Evora comes with a new body kit already, which features a revised front lip with louvres in the front fenders.
Carbon fibre ducts behind the rear wheels and a tweaked diffuser have also been added. For an extra USD$10,000, you can pick up the Carbon Pack, which will shave off 49 pounds. The pack adds lightweight material to the front access panel, roof, rear deck, bumper, and diffuser surround.
If you want to drop the weight even more, a titanium exhaust drops 22 pounds for USD$8,000. If you opt for all the weight-shedding options, the Evora comes in at a light 3,104 pounds.
The Evora comes with 19-inch wheels in the front and 20-inch wheels in the back. On the inside, there is plenty of Alcantara upholstery, which you can upgrade to leather as an option.
