FT750-26 Fat Tire E-Bike is Frustration Free

Frustration can lead to a lot of stress, but it can also be the mother of invention. Just ask CSC Motorcycles owner Steve Seider. “I became frustrated when I was shopping for an electric-assist bicycle, trying to sort through the cheap junk and the expensive stuff that costs more than our motorcycles,” says Seider. “After doing extensive research, I was able to source the exact componentry to build an e-bike that is the perfect balance of quality and value.” That “perfect balance” turned out to be the FT750-26 Fat Tire E-bike with 26-inch wheels.

CSC’s electric bike comes in right in the mid-range as far as price goes thanks to its $1,688 tag and free shipping. But don’t let the price fool you. This bike is hitting above its weight class when it comes to value. The FT750 comes with a 750W rear hub motor that tops out at between 25 to 28 miles per hour when it comes to speed. The integrated 650Wh battery is actually part of the frame, so it doesn’t mess with the bike’s good looks. That battery provides enough juice for a 20 to 45 mile range—the spread in the range reflects whether the bike is used in pure throttle or pedal assist. The battery uses Samsung 35E battery cells, which are Samsung’s most energy-dense cells.

The front suspension on the bike can travel an impressive 100mm and offers eight levels of adjustable damping plus pre-load adjustment and lockout. For brakes, CSC equipped the FT750 with a set of Shimano Acera M390 hydraulic two-piston brakes riding on 180mm rotors. The drivetrain is a Shimano Tourney 7-speed. There’s plenty of LED lighting on the bike as well as an LCD display to keep you informed on battery levels and other data. The frame is an all-metal construction in all areas possible, and the fat tires are Kenda Juggernauts.
