Performance eyewear company Oakley has just entered the cycling world with a new line of helmets. The Aro 3 Ventilation, Aro 5 Aero Road and the Aro 7 Time Trial helmets were released at this year’s international bicycle trade fair, Eurobike.
Specifically designed to work with Oakley’s performance eyewear, each helmet is geared towards different kinds of riders. They all have anti-microbial X-Static padding for comfort. All three feature a braided textile TX1 lace retention system by Boa, which sits flat against the head and is equipped with MIPS for added safety.
The Aro3 was designed for riders that ride in extreme heat or that tackle long climbs. Large vents on the back, front and sides of the helmet allow for exceptional ventilation. They enable the air to move through the helmet at high speeds.
Perfect for sprinters, the Aro5 is an aerodynamic road helmet. It was designed to be fast even when the rider has their head down. This helmet uses a Vane structure to channel air over the rider’s head. This structure provides maximum airflow and exceptional aerodynamics.
The Aro7 is perfect for racers. This time trial helmet gives riders a speed advantage thanks to the design. Fewer vents allow for reduced drag. A magnetic system keeps the clear shield securely in place.
Oakley plans to offer a complete line of cycling gear, which will be available in February of 2018. The eyewear company has partnered with Jawbreaker apparel to offer gloves, jerseys, bags and more.
