Aprilia Combines Naked and Sport for the Tuono 660

So you like the look and performance of track bikes, but what’s the likelihood of you actually racing a motorcycle to be able to enjoy those qualities? What you want is a bike that gives you what you love about track bikes, but is still useful for the street. Well, the next time you plan on throttling through some curves during a canyon drive, consider the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory. Noale, Italy, based motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has taken all the comforts of a naked bike and paired them with sportbike performance to create this new bike.

The Tuono 660 Factory bike starts out very similarly to the RS 660. Things start to change with the front fairing and the bodywork, which are both shaved down, contributing to a weight of just 399 pounds. The yoke-mounted clip-ons are replaced with handlebars as well. The Tuono 660 also features a KYB 41mm inverted fork as well as a KYB shock, which comes with rebound damping and preload adjustment. The KYB fork boasts an oil reservoir-equipped Sachs shock and is fully adjustable.

The liquid-cooled 659cc parallel-Twin has been retuned and upgraded with a 16-tooth pinion gear. The final drive is also shorter, granting an additional 5 horsepower, bringing the total up to 100 horsepower with 49.4 lb-ft of torque. The Tuono 660 is equipped with Aprilia’s Performance Ride Control—a whole suite of electronic rider aids including adjustable traction control, engine maps, and engine brake. There are also five customizable ride modes, cruise control, and a quick shifter.
