Legacy Overland shared with us this beautiful 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Convertible that’s fully restored, retooled, revamped and ready to be auctioned off later this month. It’s got a glossy new Toyota Olive Green finish and a custom beige canvas soft top to perfectly blend with nature. Sadly the total babe in the driver’s seat doesn’t come with the vehicle, but we salute Legacy for her inclusion in the imagery.

Under the hood, you will find a completely overhauled and rebuilt B-type (diesel) inline four-cylinder engine, with a 2,977cc displacement and an output of 80bhp at 3,600rpm. The clutch, transmission and suspension were also rebuilt, with the latter crafted using Old Man Emu components, known for their reliability across the challenging Australian landscapes. The 4-speed manual transmission is paired and BF Goodrich Mud-terrain T/A tires are the icing on the cake.

Comfort levels are lifted to new heights beginning with the upgraded front bucket seats. Couple them with the parallel rear benches and custom Italian leather upholstery and what you have is a vehicle that’s as luxurious as it is practical. Legacy Overland added have extra-strength, roll bar for added safety. Other nice touches include a side mounted Hi-Lift jack and a jerry can in matching Olive colourway.

Technology-wise, Legacy spared no effort in assuring a modern, yet retro experience. The radio is a great example, as it’s Bluetooth-enabled, yet preserves the vintage look of the Land Cruisers’ glorious days from the 70s. The front, rear and fog lights also keep their traditional shape but are now powered by LED.

Regardless of the terrain, this fully restored Land Cruiser BJ40 is up to the challenge. If it’s your type of vehicle, head over to Legacy Overland to find out more.
