U.S. based luxury sporting goods company Williamson Goods has just created one of the most expensive bicycles ever made. This super-exclusive bike carries a price tag of AU $ 45,500. So, why is this bike so expensive? The company touts the custom Python-Wrapped Bicycle as both a mode of transportation and a work of art.
The frame is handmade and features pure copper or chrome plating. Williamson Goods wrapped this bike in genuine hand-sewn python skin. The Brooks saddle is made of real crocodile skin. The grips are covered in Brooks custom snakeskin. The forks, stem and lugs are all individually made and plated to match the frame. Williamson Goods says that they assemble every single component to the customer’s exact specifications.
The company says that they harvested all of the animal skins in a humane and sustainable way. Also, they are CITES certified and contain no chemical by-products.
Each bicycle comes with the following accessories: a copper-plated beverage holder, orange copper-plated front carrier pack, centre kickstand and a black leather saddle tool bag. The bikes are available in four colour combinations: navy and copper, black and copper, navy and chrome or tan and copper. Customers can choose from small, medium and large frame sizes. Additional sizes are available upon request.
Williamson Goods has said that it plans to make just 40 of these custom bicycles. If you have $45,500 to spare and a passion for rare bikes, then perhaps you might be one of the lucky 40 to own one of these masterpieces.
