Roaring back with this year’s Supercars Championship are the latest Limited Edition and Special Edition watches from official partner Seiko 5 Sports. The celebrated range consists of four unique 42.5mm models, each one immediately striking in its aggressive layout and bold colourway. Leading the proverbial pack is the ultra-sleek SRPJ01K1, which resonates under bright and dark conditions alike. Limited to only 2,022 pieces, this watch features a carbon fibre pattern dial, the iconic Supercars logos on the exhibition case back/crown, and an additional rubber strap. 
The Repco Supercars Championship
Australasia’s premier motorsports event, the Repco Supercars Championship puts various high-performance supercars in direct competition with one another. Limited Edition SRPJ01K1
The grand champion of Seiko 5 Sports’ new range, this Limited Edition model delivers brilliant contrast between its darker and lighter details. “Victory” gold adorns the otherwise black bezel whilst the dial features vibrant white markers with gold trim and a gold seconds hand. Under bright conditions, the watch’s gold accents reflect sunlight in an eye-popping fashion. At night, the glowing Lumibrite treatment bursts to life.
Running on Calibre 4R36 automatic with manual winding, the SRPJ01K1 is water-resistant to 10 bar and forged from steel with a Hardlex coating. Along with its brethren, the watch features the iconic Supercars logo on both the crown and exhibition case back for the first time. Unlike its peers, however, this one also has a limited edition number engraved on the case back. Limited to 2,022 pieces, it comes in a pillowed presentation box with a numbered certificate of authenticity and an extra rubber strap.
Special Edition SRPJ03K1
This instant classic combines black and white with tasteful streaks of red on the seconds hand and inner bezel ring. It runs on Calibre 4R36 with a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The carbon fibre pattern of its dial truly pops and provides an ideal foundation for the Lumibrite markers and compact date display. A stop-seconds hand function is also part of the package.
Special Edition SRPJ05K1
Bearing visual resemblance to its peers, this sporty model features blue on the seconds hand and rehaut. Motorsport-themed perhaps, but we’re also picking up some serious dive watch vibes from the entire range. Look for the signature Supercars logo on the crown and see-through caseback and accept no substitutes.
Special Edition SRPJ07K1
This Special Edition variant employs yellow on the inner bezel ring and seconds hand and thereby retains an undeniable presence. Its sturdy rubber strap takes direct inspiration from “slick” racing tyres, representing yet another subtle detail that one will find throughout the entire series.
