Foot Locker Drops New Colours of the Nike Air Max Flair

In Partnership with Foot Locker

Australia is about to get in on some of the latest action from the big swoosh that is the Nike Air Max Flair – an all new shoe that sports a minimalist mesh upper and full length air unit for ultimate comfort and breathability, which debuted earlier this year.

Without a doubt the most prominent feature of the Air Max Flair is its big and bold ‘AIR’ branding across the forefoot paying homage to one of Nike’s most prolific basketball silhouettes. Aside from this, Nike has kept everything else subtle with a single swoosh on each tongue and a small logo and swoosh on the heel. The bootie-like upper meets today’s standard of quick comfort while the lacing system allows for feet of all widths. These are definitely made for showing off with a fresh outfit off the track. Lace them for leisure – these kicks will give you all the flair you need to rep some steeze on the streets.

There’s no denying this new silhouette looks like a mashup of a few of Nike’s greatest innovations. The aforementioned ‘AIR’ text pays homage to the Air More Uptempo from ‘96 made famous by Chicago Bull’s Scottie Pippen who won both an NBA Championship and an Olympic gold medal in the same year wearing the model. Or perhaps your more familiar with the ‘97 film George of the Jungle when Brendan Fraser breaks out of a UPS crate with a fresh pair, laces them up and runs off into the African plains. The asymmetrical lacing system is vaguely reminiscent of the weird and wonderful Nike Air Footscape, coincidentally from ‘96 as well.

The lacing system along with the wrap style upper shows strong resemblance to the Jordan Future from 2014. The full length Air unit, while originally seen on the Air Max+ 2013, still delivers the comfort and bounce you know and love from the brand. With an assortment of classic design innovations compressed into a new simplified silhouette, the Nike Air Max Flair will be sure to go above and beyond expectations and scream for attention.

Keeping things clean and simple, the Flair will be coming to Aussie shores in two colours. A crisp whiteout version will have you thinking of summer days and looking fresh while a stealthy blackout version will keep your evening attire looking dope for nights on the town. Get your pair now from Foot Locker Australia. Trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this future classic.
