Apple Killed-Off its MacBook Ports, So Satechi Built the Type-C Pro Hub

Apple. You got to love the tech giant’s forward thinking – removing all those accessory ports before they’re obsolete and forcing the rest of the world to play catch up.

Satechi’s Type-C Pro Hub acts as the missing puzzle piece, adding additional functionality to the new MacBook Pro 13” and 15” by keeping its slim form factor, but adding the ports users lost from the previous MacBook generation. Plus there’s some sweet other new features to boot.

The Type-C Pro Hub includes the following:

A Thunderbolt 3 port for pass-through charging, for both 13” and 15” MacBook Pro models, and quick data transfer with speeds up to 40Gbps, all without sacrificing usage of other ports. The 4k HDMI port outputs crisp, 1080p high-resolution video at 60Hz to external 4k monitor screens.

The additional USB-C port expands data transfer capabilities with speeds up to 5Gb. Two convenient USB 3.0 ports give users the freedom to transfer data from non-Type-C peripherals with speeds up to 5Gb. The SD/Micro card reader is ideal for video and photo editing, the card reader slots provide data transfer speeds up to 104MB/s.
