MacBook Pro Leak 1

Apple MacBook Pro 2020 Specs Reportedly Leaked

It appears Apple may have finally made the decision to upgrade the 13-inch MacBook Pro ahead of this year’s release. The revelation comes after Twitter user _rogame, best known for leaking specs and benchmarks for upcoming PCs posted an update of their latest findings as discovered via 3DMark benchmark. While we don’t know a whole lot about the new 2020 MacBook Pro, the Twitter leak does shed some light on what we can expect once the much-anticipated computer is released.

According to _rogame, a new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 has been tested with a 4.1-GHz, Intel Core i7-1068NG7 processor, 32GB of RAM and 4TB SSD. Further reports have indicated that the MacBook Pro’s new Core i7 chip may be a new 10th-gen Ice Lake-U CPU. That’s a big move for Apple and its tech department, which would result in far greater power and likely, price. At the moment, you can score the current 13-inch MacBook Pro for $1,999, which gets you a 2.4-GHz 8th Gen Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. With the MacBook Pro leaks suggesting more RAM, storage and a far more powerful processor, it isn’t insane to expect that price will jump.

One major update that the MacBook Pro 2020 leak suggests is that the 13-inch MacBook Pro might not be 13-inches at all. Some users are speculating that Apple could jump to 14-inches for the new design, following on from the decision to boost its 15-inch last release. As to when the MacBook Pro 2020 will be released is anyone’s guess, but the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t stopped Apple from dropping new gear. Some Twitter users are predicting it could be released as early as this month, but like all things Apple at the moment, it’s merely speculation.
