Coinciding with the release of new Mac Pro, Apple has just dropped the groundbreaking Pro Display XDR monitor at WWDC 2019. In what appears to be an effort by Apple to create the ultimate performance workstation. Simply put the Pro Display XDR, will be more colourful, brighter, sleeker and a boatload more expensive than any display Apple has released to date.
To the tech specs, the Pro Display XDR comes with a 6016 x 3384 6K resolution with more than 20 million pixels. That clocks it in as Apple’s largest Retina display to date. Made to provide users with a true-to-life viewing experience, a whopping 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio creates a completely immersive viewing experience. It’s also the brightest display Apple has released to date, maxing out at 1,600 nits at its peak.
As you’d expect from Apple, the Pro Display XDR doesn’t just have a pretty screen. The whole body features Apple’s trademark aluminium casing, with crystal clean lines and even a ‘cheese grater’ rear facade to match the 2019 Mac Pro. Unsurprisingly, Apple are claiming it as the best display on the market.
The Pro Display XDR is far from cheap. On it’s own you can grab yourself one for $4999 bones, but to use it to its full potential you’ll find it best paired with the 2019 Mac Pro. Oh, and don’t forget the extra $999 for the Apple designed Home Stand that will allow you to
be the biggest wanker ever get the most out of your display.
