Here’s everything you need to know about the questionably named iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max (protein shake, anyone?) and how you can get it in Australia.
The iPhone 11 Pro & 11 Pro Max is the first iPhone to feature three cameras–telephoto, wide and ultra-wide lenses–, which will offer Night Mode (a first for the tech giant) and Deep Fusion, which will take nine pictures in fast succession and then use its brains to craft a whole new image utilising the best aspects of each picture.
Available in four colours – midnight green, space grey, gold and silver, the camera seems to be the most exciting update on this piece of tech. Shooting in 4K at 60 fps, there is a raft of available modes in which users will be able to shoot, including slo-mo capture, time-lapse, cinematic video stabilisation, and extended dynamic range (on both main and ultra-wide cameras).
It’ll also give you a selfie vid in slo-mo, if that’s the sort of thing after which you’ve been pining.
The iPhone 11 Pro does get a shiny new processor, the 7nm A13 Bionic, which is an impressive 20 per cent speedier than its predecessor in the iPhone X.
Here’s where things get hairy: The 64GB model will set you back AUD$1,899. The 265 GB iteration will be a cool AUD$2,149. And, wait for it … the 512GB model will cost an absolutely whopping AUD$2,499.
For perspective, this journalist’s 2004 Subaru Impreza cost AUD$2,700. And that was with nine months of rego.
Anyway, if history is anything to go by, people will buy it whatever the cost, and it was always unlikely that Apple would be going backwards in terms of pricing. There is also a 5.8″ version (called the iPhone 11 Pro) which will come in at AUD$1,749, if you want something priced more around the return flight to London (economy, three stopovers), or have tiny hands.
Here are all the specs you ‘ll need to know.
