The new iPad Pro from Apple is just one of the many things that got us excited about last night’s barrage of sneak-peeks from the sophisticated tech giant, though we will have to wait until December to take it for a spin.
With iOS 11, the newest platform for the O.G. of tablets, almost ready to be rolled out, the new iPad Pro has been built for speed, featuring a new 64-bit A10X Fusion chip, making it faster than most PC laptops – so tackling complex tasks like editing photos and 4K video, rendering 3D images or playing games is a breeze. A six-core CPU and 12-core GPU deliver up to 30% CPU performance and 40% faster graphics performance than the industry-leading A9X chip, while delivering “all-day battery life” (we’ve heard that from Apple before, but it’s true that their products’ day-to-day longevity is generally on the up and up).
Available in 10.5″ and 12.9″ models, they both boast the most advanced Retina display on the market, as well as ProMotion, which offers refresh rates of up to 120Hz, allowing seamless transitions. Pair this with the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard (which never needs to be charged or paired over Bluetooth) and you’ve got yourself a serious contender for not having to carry a laptop around at all.
