Beoplay EQ: Bang & Olufsen’s First True Wireless Earbuds

Bang & Olufsen have adopted the adage “adapt to overcome” for their new Beoplay EQ true wireless earbuds. These earbuds feature “Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation,” and it’s a feature that comes after hearing the feedback of customers regarding previous models.

Bang & Olufsen Unveils First Wireless Gaming Headset

Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation is a novel approach to ANC. Rather than relying on the Bluetooth and effectively requiring to pull double duty in order to achieve noise cancellation, the Beoplay EQ earbuds have a dedicated ANC chip. Having a separate chip should not only improve the noise cancellation but should also improve Bluetooth connectivity. The ANC chip combines with four microphones that continuously monitor what’s going on around you.

The chip takes this information and then automatically adjusts the noise cancellation to compensate. On top of that, Bang & Olufsen added two more microphones that are equipped with “retune noise reduction” technology that, according to Bang & Olufsen, create “crystal clear” calls. You can also use Beosonic to fine-tune everything, including the quality of the audio that you’re listening to.

The Beoplay EQ earbuds come with 6.5 hours of battery life with an additional two charges in the case. The case is made of aluminium and supports wireless charging. There’s also a quick-charge feature, so you can get two hours of listening time with just 20 minutes of charging. The earbuds come with four sizes of silicone tips and one pair of Comply foam tips. And if you’re looking to work out with these earbuds, you should be fine thanks to the IP54 certification.

Bang & Olufsen will be releasing the Beoplay EQ true wireless earbuds on August 19 in either black or gold colour schemes. You can expect to pay USD$399 for these earbuds. That’s a bit higher of a price than you might pay for other brands, but with Bang & Olufsen, you know you’ll get quality not only in the build and materials, but also in the sound quality.
