If you’re the kind of guy who wants every product in his arsenal to be one of a kind, then Bang & Olufsen crafted a speaker just for you. Specifically, the high-end audio brand has just put five rare BeoSound 1 speakers up for auction through Sotheby’s. Already bursting with quality and distinction, each speaker in the capsule collection respectively delivers a unique colour scheme of either tan, orange, maroon, pink or grey. Sealing the deal is an engraving of “1/1”, which pretty much speaks for itself.
To create each striking colour for its capsule collection, B&O anodised and dyed each respective speaker one at a time. The process took a full day, and required a complete takeover of the anodising plant. The speakers were produced back in 2016 as showpieces, and can now be all yours for a hefty price. And who better to offer them up than Sotheby’s, one of the world’s foremost auction houses?
In the words of John Mollanger, B&O Executive Vice President of Brand and Markets: “Sotheby’s represents the height of luxury and sophistication, and we would be hard-pressed to find a more suitable venue for the sale of these one-of-a-kind products.”
Each BeoSound 1 speaker from the capsule collection is up for sale this very minute, and already raking in bids. Again, the privilege of owning one will cost you, but on the other hand, what good is an exclusive gadget without the steep purchase price to show for it?
