Bang & Olufsen Shakes-Up Home Audio with its BeoLab 50 Loudspeaker

BeoLab 50 is the first loudspeaker from Bang & Olufsen, emerging directly from the innovative BeoLab 90 and it’s built to set a new standard for state-of-the-art home speakers. BeoLab 50 combines sophisticated sound with a beautiful design ideal for those moments where a soundtrack is required to enjoy life to its fullest.

BeoLab 50 has a slender silhouette, standing tall and rounded with floating lines and visible edges. The silver-polished aluminium surfaces and warm oak lamellas are both recognisable as staples of the Bang & Olufsen range. The bottom of the speaker visually lifts from the floor to create a light expression of precise posture.

The advanced sound customisation technology guarantees the best possible performance for your environment. Using an external microphone, BeoLab 50 measures its physical acoustic surroundings and applies the ideal compensation filters to produce optimal sound for your listening position or throughout the entire home.

A Signature Acoustic Lens handles sound dispersion for the higher frequencies via the unique Beam Width Control dispersed into either 180-degree sound mode for a party or film, or a narrow mode to create that dedicated ‘sweet spot.’ When BeoLab 50 is switched on, the lens appears in an elegant and controlled upwards movement, revealing a soft-lit cave that ensures the lens is visible during both the day and night.

The loudspeakers are interconnected via the Digital Power Link with sound sources feeding into the system through the master speaker’s comprehensive connection panel. As a supplement to the wired connection, BeoLab 50 also incorporates wireless multichannel digital audio streaming with robust sound performance for the best of both worlds.

The Bang & Olufsen companion app enables you to operate the BeoLab 50 from a distance and assists in creating the desired presets based on your preferences. Like all high-end loudspeakers, BeoLab 50 costs a pretty penny. You can add a pair of speakers to your home for $49,500 from September 2017.
